My Daily Make-Up Routine

Hello again everyone,

(I feel I should call you all Bumble Bee's or maybe Bumblers!.. hmmm.. food for thought)

Hope you all had a great weekend and a fabby start to the week, for those who work hope it wasn't too bad a start and for those going back to school I hope you all have a great new term!

Today’s blog is going to be a typical beauty blog.

Making My Face Pretty Everyday

YAY!

There will be a video on my YouTube Channel to go along side this blog post where you will see me putting on my make up (don’t be too scared of the bland face - beauty sleep is just sleep for me).

Should probably mention this just in case, I am no expert in make-up or what works best for different types of skin. My products and reviews on them is completely personal opinion and based on loads of trial and error over the year. Everyone has a different skin texture and what works well on my skin may not be great for you but I'm all for “don’t knock it till you try it” so any suggestions you guys have - let me know!

MY FACE;

Prep: I always start off my make up routine with some moisturiser. I used to be really bad with my skin and how I looked after it but a few months ago a friend of mine introduced me to the Vitamin E collection from Body Shop and I loved how gentle it was on my skin and how soft it made it feel. I am one of many who suffer a very oily t-zone but I can get dry skin on my cheeks. For years it was difficult to find something that worked well and helped both. The vitamin E moisturise I use daily, morning and night and it gives me a great base to work my foundation on and a rehydration after taking it all off at the end of the day.
Primer: I usually only pop some primer on my skin when I am wearing quite a heavy foundation or if I’m going out for a party or filming a video…
Foundation: I have recently just purchased the Rimmel London, Wake Me Up foundation. I was looking for something that I could wear daily that wouldn't be too heavy on my skin but still give a good amount of coverage for my wonky bits. I use the colour Ivory which I was surprised about as I thought I had a slightly darker tone but its actually just my red cheeks shining through and the ivory colour gives me a good base to work on for contour etc.
Contour: I use a M.A.C Matte Bronze Bronzing Powder. Cause I’ve got wee chubby cheeks its important to get that definition AND it makes me look like I have some colour to me which is always a bonus!
Blush: Whilst I was looking for my Wake Me Up foundation I stumbled across this beauty which is the Max Factor
Highlighter: Make-Up Academy is a brand I am very new to. I usually shop in Boots and they (I don't think) have any MUA products - well the one in Aberdeen doesn't anyway. My friend introduced me to them on a day shopping and I came across this lovely shimmery whitey gold highlighter (Iridescent Gold) that gives a lovely sparkle to my face - Sparkle Sparkle!
Powder: So to set all my face make up, I choose to use the M.A.C Mineralize Powder in the colour Medium. I don't do this with all foundations, like with my primer, if I have heavier make up on I will apply my powder straight after to (again) make it last longer!

MY EYES;

For the look I have chosen to do I start with a gold base colour. This really brings out the brown pigments in my eyes and helps dazzle people with the sparkles - apparently I’m all about the sparkle today! I use the M.A.C Amber Times Nine palette and the 3 colours Creative Copper (Gold), Aromatic (Brown), and to finish the Pepper, Please (Brown/Black Shimmer). And finish it off with my Maybelline New York Colossal Volume Express Waterproof Mascara (Black) - woah! That was a mouthful!!

MY LIPS;
To give this look the final finish I always pop on a bit of lippy. The one I used for this look was the M.A.C Viva Glam in the colour VI (which I did figure out means 6 - fewf). I went into M.A.C in Aberdeen and searched for a colour I could wear regularly that would work with most eye colours and not be too BAM and this is what I got. I find it gives me a lot of moisture with very minimal application and its so versatile that you can add more for a darker lip or just a light layer for a soft lip - completely up to you. I see it as the lipstick for every mood.

And there you have it guys, this blog goes along side my YouTube video for “My Daily Routine” so check it out (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2McG53yG_w)

Hope you enjoyed this (longer than expected) blog!

Harry Potter & Canadian Pancakes

Hey everyone and welcome back to Eilidh Bee is Blogging!

I decided to do a wee post about my Harry Potter antics as today marks the 15th year since we saw Dan, Rupert and Emma’s baby faces as Harry, Ron and Hermione. So, the other day a few of my friends and I had a Harry Potter and Canadian Pancakes day!! It started a couple of weeks ago while I was off with a bad back. I was feeling really poop about missing work and not being able to do very much so they came up with the marvellous idea to have a Harry Potter marathon… AMAZEBALLS RIGHT?!

The only issue is, which if any of you have tried to it, watching all the Harry Potter movies takes a VERY long time. The first day we didn't start until nearer 2 in the afternoon and only managed the first two movies - their faces are so cute! Cause of this we decided to have it as a weekly/fortnightly  event to eventually watch them all. Soooo, this week we decided to start it early in the morning and go for the day! At half past 10 I got a phone call saying my chummies Alice and Hannah were outside with all the stuff we would need for an awesome Harry Potter and Canadian Pancakes day - oh also should explain the reason for Canadian pancakes, Hannah is Canadian and she was making them.. simples!

Now, something you should probably know about me - nothing is ever straightforward when I’m around. In this situation, I had no scales, very little milk and different sizes of eggs. Great start to the pancake making - buuuuut I did have BACON. Alice and Hannah, however, are very intuitive and work with what they’ve got, the result - thick Canadian pancakes with maple syrup and bacon. They were delicious!!.. Although very filling so we had plenty left over mixture to keep going back for. I’ll leave the recipe we used at the bottom of the post if you fancy trying to make them yourself!

Once we were royally stuffed with our delicious pancakes and bacon - it came time for Harry Potter!! By this point in our weekly marathon we were onto The Goblet of Fire. This is one of my favourites and least favourite films of the lot. One thing we have to remember is, this was before Twilight so my crush on RPatz was allowed! Mmmmm Cedric (don’t act like you didn't see it too) - he was probably one of my first celebrity crushes, after my first and one true love the charming Mr Channing Tatum….

AAAnyway back to the film, if any of you haven't seen it - stop reading this right this second and go and watch it! PS, SPOILERS WILL BE COMING.

It is one of my favourite films as I think its where everything turns slightly darker in terms of the story line. We learn waaaay more about the dark man himself as well as seeing him for the first time in that spooky graveyard! I also love the story line before everything goes south for the Wizarding World. The Tri-Wizard Tournament. We meet a whole host of witches and wizards from different parts of the world all coming together to compete for the ultimate prize - “eternal glory”! Who wouldn't want that?!

Long story short, witches or wizards from the three schools enter their names into this flaming goblet (a “Goblet of Fire” if you will) and it chooses 3 people from each school to compete for the shiny trophy. Cedric Diggory from Hogwarts, Viktor Krum from Durmstrang and Fleur Delacour from Beauxbatons - then twist in the story - HARRY POTTER’s name comes fleeing out the goblet. Dumbledore was not impressed. They then go through 3 different challenges and figure out the clues for the next task. Harry helps Cedric, Cedric helps Harry - etc etc (good wee souls eh?) and they all get through the tournament to the final stage. There can, unfortunately, only be one winner and claim eternal glory. Another twist, shiny trophy turns out to be a return ticket to creepy grave yard with big bald bad man and friends, teachers turn into bad guys and Dumbledore is even more unimpressed. Seriously - so much frown face.

Oh and DAVID TENNANT APPEARS! NOMNOMNOM!
So yeh, not much else happened that day as we were so entranced in the movie and eating pancakes but nevertheless is was great fun and to anyone who hasn't had a Harry Potter Marathon but loves HP, get yoself a group of friends or even just a blanket and enjoy!

Hope you have enjoyed reading my slightly HP crazy post. If you have a HP day and/or try making some Canadian pancakes let me know either on Twitter (@bee_eilidh) or comment here!

Friday 14 August 2015

Hey Everyone..

I am Eilidh Bee and this is my blog!

So I thought it would possibly be a good idea to give wee blurb about what this is gonna be about and who I am. I am a 21 year old “student” in the big shiny - but very very grey - Aberdeen. I work part time and hang out with friends as much as I can in between university work and money earning work. I have a better half, I would like to say he keeps me sane but I think I'm driving him crazy so together we seem to be working well. I am known for my Eilidhisms (being my random turn of phrase'zzz). Woah those zzz got me thinking about pizza, one of my favourites!

Anyway, about this blog and my (hopefully) vlogs that will be coming. I have seen loads and loads of blogs and vlogs recently - thanks to my lovely chummy Sarah (check her out on YouTube and blog spot!) - and I've decide all my random thoughts should maybe try an get down on paper and caught on camera. It will probably be a mix of make up videos and reviews, things throughout the day that make me giggle, baking winning and fails, some musical interludes and loads of other things that reminds me to “bee eilidh” and smile!

You'll see a wee hashtag popping up all over my blogs and vlogs and it's currently on my YouTube page which is #beeyou … it's my little hashtag linked to bee_eilidh to remind everyone that no matter what life throws at you or who's around just #beeyou!

If this sounds like something you want to check in with, there will be blogs coming as regularly as I can (I'm a bit of a scatterbrain) and would love for you guys to get involved..

And on that note…

Keep smiling

Love you all
